The University of Washington and nation’s largest real estate private equity behemoth Greystar are teaming up to remove hundreds of trees in student housing.

Many of these trees don’t need to be removed, and Greystar even said they plan to keep the trees in their original design. This bait-and-switch of design plans will only hurt the livability, walkability, and climate resilience of these future student homes.
