A community is at risk of losing a historic tree — and an apartment complex, the only shade tree in their vicinity — due to the city unnecessarily approving the removal of a tree in Ravenna. This tree was meticulously cared for by Barbara Brooks for 70 years. Now, it's being thoughtlessly removed.
The City has approved removing this historic, healthy Western red cedar for a development project. This cedar provides the only shade to a large, multi-family apartment complex. Evergreens are known for their ability to filter pollutants, and this tree is the only buffer between this apartment complex and busy 65th street.
Join us in asking the City to protect the only shade tree for this apartment complex. We can grow with our trees!
